IDP Waiver Wire for Week 11

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 11. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues.

Teams on bye this week include the Colts, Falcons, Patriots and Saints.

Defensive Linemen

Ed Oliver (DT – Bills): Oliver is a Top 10 Defensive Tackle in pressuring the opponent’s quarterback and this week has a great matchup against the Jets. The Jets are a Top 10 team in allowing sacks to defensive tackles. Oliver is having great season so far, both in tackle and sack production. During the first game between these two teams, Oliver recorded 5 tackles, a sack and 3 quarterback hits. I see a scenario where this happens again, making him a great replacement player for your lineup this week.

Additional options: Jonathan Greenard, Jonathan Allen and Roy Robertson-Harris.

Linebacker

Elandon Roberts (ILB – Steelers): In Week 9, Cole Holcomb headed to the Injured Reserve list with a season-ending injury. Last game, Kwon Alexander tore his Achilles. So now the Steelers only have Roberts and second-year player Mark Robinson at linebacker. Roberts now is a full time linebacker and is rostered only 4%, according to Sleeper. This week, the Steelers will be facing Cleveland, a Top 5 team in allowing tackles to linebackers, in an AFC North matchup. During the first game between these two teams, Holcomb recorded 8 tackles and Alexander had 9. Also, last game, in another divisional game, Roquan Smith recorded an impressive 17 tackles against the Browns.

Additional options: Zach Cunningham, Willie Gay and Mark Robinson.

Defensive Backs

Mike Hilton (CB – Bengals): In the previous years with the Bengals, Hilton was primarily the nickel. This season, he has been again the nickel, but also playing more as a Swiss army knife too. This Thursday night, he will be facing the Ravens, in a divisional matchup where Hilton usually has great success. This season, the Ravens are not allowing a lot of tackles per game to cornerbacks, but there are two reasons to trust Hilton this week. First, in Hilton’s matchup against the Ravens in Week 2, he had 5 tackles and 1 pass defended, which is a decent performance for a streaming option. Also, the Bengals defense is Top 2 in allowing yards per rushing attempts at 5.0. I think the Ravens knowing this fact, will use the rushing attack to control the clock and game. Hilton will be a beneficiary as he has one of the best tackle rates against the run, among all the cornerbacks in the league.

Additional Options: Tony Adams, Amani Hooker and Carrington Valentine.
