Here are some of the most intriguing storylines we have seen in Week 6.

Arizona Cardinals

As we have previously monitored and reported, Mack Wilson is your LB2 to own in this defense and logged 91% of the snaps this week. It needs to be noted that Kyzir White did get hurt and suffered a knee injury in the first quarter. This created an opportunity for Krys Barnes to grab nine tackles off 54 snaps (74%) step into his role and wear the green dot. Barnes played every snap after the injury. Keep an eye on this injury. If White remains out, then Barnes becomes a sneaky waiver wire pickup and bargain, as he could be a free linebacker who calls the defense and is rostered in 0% of leagues.

Atlanta Falcons

Once Troy Andersen returns, the linebacker rotation should take clearer shape. For now, Kaden Elliss is playing every snap, with Nathan Landman seeing 78% and JD Bertrand 19%. I anticipate Bernard’s value will disappear once Andersen is back. Ellis remains a reliable asset with his role unaffected, but Andersen and Landman will likely compete for snaps moving forward based on what we have seen.

Cleveland Browns

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah continues to look great as an every-down linebacker producing 7 tackles and one sack. Hicks was out in this game so we saw some different players fill in. Mohamoud Diabate, activated from IR, stepped in as the LB2 with 71% of the snaps. Meanwhile, Devin Bush moved back down to his LB3 role  With Hicks nearing a return, neither Diabate nor Bush will have much value.

Dallas Cowboys

With Eric Kendricks out in this game, DeMarvion Overshown continued to play as an every-down player. Damone Clark is the clear LB3 third wheel, and the next man up received an 80% snap count getter. Lots of linebackers rotating in on a blowout. Nothing really to see here or worth picking up or noting so let’s move on.

Denver Broncos

Believe it or not, Justin Strnad is proving to be useful.  Coming off last week’s nine tackle game, Strnad now has three 70%+ games or greater and produced 7 tackles and one sack in this game.  He is only owned in 14% of the leagues, I’m playing him.

Green Bay Packers

Signs of life have emerged. For those who drafted Edgerrin Cooper, you had to do it early or at the 1.01 in IDP drafts. So far that has not panned out. This week he logged 66% of snaps and produced 7 tackles, so this is great news for things to come. He is not an every-down player yet but looks like he has taken control of the LB2 role now. Walker was still the only three-down linebacker, wearing the green dot.

For Isaiah McDuffie, he is a trade candidate for me. If you read our recent articles, you will notice his decline. He’s not playable right now.

Houston Texans

Azeez Al-Shaair got injured in the third quarter with a knee injury, which lowered his snap share. Henry To’oTo’o continues to be a force with 7 tackles on 83% snap counts. The player who stepped in as the LB2 was Neville Hewitt, who also produced seven tackles on 59% snap share duties after Al-Shaair went down. You can treat Hewitt as a waiver wire target but I am not, as Chris Harris may be returning from injury next week at the perfect time. Check your IR, Harris had 101 tackles (65 solos) last season and is often forgotten about in leagues (only owned in 37%) so you may get Azeez a direct replacement on the cheap. To’oTo’o suffered a concussion and his injury status should be monitored throughout the week.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Devin Lloyd is head and shoulders above the rest of this group, so he remains the only LB1, far and away better than any other option until Foyesade Oluokun returns from injury.

I play Ventrell Miller in a few deep leagues, not only is he out snapping Chad Muma he makes more plays too. Either way regardless of the player you like, they are only to be used temporarily, as both Lloyd and Oluokun should assume an every-down work as this season progresses.

Las Vegas Raiders

Nothing here but a comment. Out of nowhere, Divine Deablo has had a rocky season and ended up getting  92% of snaps with six tackles and one sack. Considering he only had 9 tackles on the season, we are now seeing signs of life emerge and he’s only owned in 28% of leagues so you might be able to sneak in and get him. Perfect player to flex during the bye weeks.

Los Angeles Chargers

This is annoying. Now that all three linebackers are back again healthy it’s making them all unstartable and an unstable committee. As we predicted, it’s a crapshoot at linebacker again. Henley did lead the way with 77% but Colson (59%) and Perryman (39%) were treated as afterthoughts.  The beginning of this game featured Henley in play call duties and wore the green dot. Perryman noticeably came out on all passing downs, hence his lower snap count. Then Colson came back in and wore the green dot, taking turns subbing in for Henley.

This kind of rotation is too inconsistent to rely on a week to week basis and I would look somewhere else. I would be looking to trade these players, especially Henley, since he is coming off a few recent good weeks of 90%= volume in weeks 2-4, specifically if you could find that one manager in your league that remembers his 12-tackle performance in week 3, it might be a good idea to move him.

New Orleans Saints

With Pete Werner out, Willie Gay was the LB2 playing alongside Demario Davis. Gay, however, got 69% and made the most of it with 4 tackles and a sack. I guess if you are in a deep format you could pick up Gay as a rotational option during bye-week, simply because of his ability to make big plays when called upon.

New York Jets

C.J. Mosley returned from injury but only saw 13% of the snaps while Jamien Sherwood maintained his every down role next to Quincy Williams. Was Mosley being eased back into action or is this the new normal for the Jets? Sherwood has been playing well and there has been clamoring from the fan base to see more of Sherwood moving forward.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Don’t get used to seeing Patrick Queen with 13 tackles. This might be the moment where you could trade him as recency biases are king in fantasy leagues. The bigger news is the LB2 battle between Payton Wilson (25 snaps) and Elandon Roberts (27 snaps). Considering all his accolades and college pedigree, I think it’s only a matter of time before Wilson overtakes this role and would be my taxi stash in dynasty leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Keep an eye on SirVocea Dennis‘ shoulder injury, he is currently on IR and out at least 2 more weeks. K.J. Britt is in an every-down role (100% snaps and 3 tackles) but only because Dennis is unavailable and he is being targeted on passing downs since he is currently a liability in coverage. I would be looking to trade K.J. Britt on his next big game.
