IDP Waiver Wire for Week 15
Here we go! We’ve finally made it to the playoffs. Congratulations for earning an invitation to the dance. You never know what will happen. Even the biggest underdog can make a run. That’s the beauty of fantasy football. So let’s get right into these waiver claims and players I think can help you win your Round 1 matchup!
The numbers in parentheses next to the player’s name represent their ownership on Sleeper. Any scoring references will be in the IDP123 system.
Defensive Line
For those in defensive tackle-required leagues, A’Shawn Robinson has been on a hot streak the last few weeks and should be rostered. I mentioned him earlier in the season, but he’s only rostered in 15% of Sleeper leagues. Robinson played 78% of snaps last week. He made five tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks! The IDP floor is very solid for the journeyman as he’s secured at least five tackles in each of the previous six games.
Other options: Adam Butler (9%), Raiders and D.J. Wonnum (25%).
Linebackers
For those super desperate for a linebacker starter in Week 15, take a look at the Titans’ Luke Gifford (3%). Jerome Baker and Kenneth Murray missed Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, which gave an opportunity to the primarily special teamer. He posted a solid stat line with 11 tackles (eight solo). Baker’s been on-and-off the field with injuries the entire season. If either were to sit in Week 15, Gifford would offer a decent option at the position. Keep an eye on Otis Reese (4%) as well, who started in the other spot, but was not quite as productive.
Darius Muasau (8%) is back on the radar! The Giants’ rookie linebacker stepped up in the wake of Bobby Okereke suffering an injury and played 76% of snaps against the Saints. He posted eight tackles (seven solo). Monitor the practice reports to see which way Okereke is trending for the Week 15 contest with Baltimore.
Cowboys’ star linebacker DeMarvion Overshown will miss the rest of the season after tearing multiple ligaments on Monday. Rookie Marist Liufau (22%) is the most likely replacement and actually sacked Joe Burrow when he took over for Overshown. A third round pick out of Notre Dame, Liufau profiled as an athletic prospect that could rush the passer. Eric Kendricks is still the guy to start for IDP purposes, but it’s worth seeing how the snaps shake out and whether Liufau makes an impact in Week 15 against Carolina.
Other options: Isaiah McDuffie (13%), Packers; Justin Strnad (14%), Broncos; and Mohamoud Diabate (21%).
Defensive Backs
Ugo Amadi (11%) is the player to highlight this week. He has tackle totals of 9, 8, 9, and 8 the last four games. He’s also played 100% of snaps in two of those contests, while seeing no fewer than 90%. This has all been a recipe for a ton of production for IDP. He’s a bona fide defensive back starter in all formats and worth scooping up to play in Round 1 of the fantasy playoffs.
Other options: Donovan Wilson (30%), Cowboys; Geno Stone (13%), Bengals; and Tykee Smith (17%), Buccaneers.
