Here are some of the most intriguing storylines we have seen in Week 4.

Arizona Cardinals

Mack Wilson‘s getting 85% of snaps in week 4 (also two weeks in a row 80% snap usage) is encouraging. He is starting to become a trusted flex option for me, now that the bye weeks and injuries are plaguing this position in the next upcoming week. Nothing wrong with using him over the next couple of weeks as he excels at tackle-heavy league platforms, partially if he could keep this volume up. I am officially back in.

Atlanta Falcons

Troy Andersen led the league this week with 17 tackles, not to mention many highlight reels with a TD for an interception but going a little unnoticed was a knee injury he sustained later in the game. Anderson still received 75% of the snaps. Rookie JD Bertrand was the clear LB3 and would be the next man up if he could not go, getting just 10%.

As previously reported, Kaden Ellis is your 100% linebacker here but is mostly mixing in on pass-rushing downs. This greatly alters a linebacker’s ability to be in ideal tackling situations, so expect regression and a continued role reversal between these two.

The same report was given from last week so let’s move on.

Buffalo Bills

Terrel Bernard is back at practice making reps so the time for Baylon Spector (96%, 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FR in week 4) is almost up. Appreciate his game-winning week while you still could play him.

Carolina Panthers

With Shaq Thompson out for the season, keep an eye on the rookie Trevin Wallace to step up and make an impact. Josey Jewell is also expected to miss a game, giving us a chance to see more from one of our top draft prospects Trevin Wallace in a potentially starting full-time role.

Now here are where the stats lie to you- he only logged 37% of the snaps but became a 100% every-down linebacker as soon as the injuries happened. The clear next man up, keep an eye on the injury report.

A standout at the Combine, Wallace was impressive and ran a 4.51 (the 4th fastest at his position)  He also broke a 44-year-old state championship long jump record with a leap of 23 feet, all while weighing 225 pounds. If he could apply all these athletic freak traits onto the field in his matchup this week, we may be seeing a potential breakout.

Cleveland Browns

Devin Bush played 88% of the snaps and produced four tackles in week 4 due to Jordan Hicks‘ elbow injury. This injury also moved Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah into playing the green dot role. This isn’t to be expected in week 5.

Dallas Cowboys

Eric Kendricks has LB1 duties locked up the battle for LB2 was up one air but we may have finally answered this question. DeMarvion Overshown was used as a weapon all over the field in week 4, his solid LB2 role in Dallas this week may have won him the job permanently. In the last two games, he’s now averaging seven tackles a game, and been on the field for at least 78% and 86% vs the Giants. He is a flex option for many IDP owners due to this performance.

Denver Broncos

With Alex Singleton injured and out the rest of the season the question came up this week who would replace him for production on the team? The answer quickly became Cody Barton. Logging all 100% of snaps, and getting four solos off of 10 tackles, he was leading the team in tackles and answered the call for us. Justin Strnad is the clear-cut LB2 with 77% snap usage, only coming off the field on obvious passing downs. I expect this to be his role the rest of the way.
As the band Survivor plays ‘The Search is over, you were with me all the while.”

Houston Texans

Azeez Al-Shaair is the LB1. Henry To’oTo’o was on the field field for 98% of snaps and produced six tackles. To’oTo’o still has value for as long as Christian Harris remains out.

Jacksonville Jaguars

In a twist of irony, what had been a rotational linebacker group this season, finally got a decent snap count due to the heavily impacted injuries.

Foyesade Oluokun was placed on IR and will miss at least four weeks, while Devin Lloyd was inactive in Week 4 due to a knee injury.

Chad Muma stepped into a 95% snap role and took on green dot duties, largely due to the depleted roster. Ventrell Miller led the team in tackles with 10 and also received 84% of the snaps. I would check your injury report before adding with of these guys because if Lloyd is healthy, it is clearly his job again.

Kansas City Chiefs

Despite playing 100% of the snaps and wore the dot, Nick Bolton is not playing like he use to and his tackle efficiency has declined. As previously reported, Drue Tranquill tackle rate to 10.9% leads the team and he ended up with ten tackles. Leo Chenal is the clear LB3 and logging around 57% giving the team three linebackers that are playable just in three uniquely different playing situations.

Los Angeles Rams

As previously reported, Troy Reeder is your LB1, with Christian Rozeboom being the two-down player LB2. In week 4, Rozeboom was on the field for 69% of the snaps and recorded 11 tackles. Being a key contributor on these obvious running downs, he now has nine tackles in the last three games. He’s an LB4 in tackles leagues and playable in your flex.

New Orleans Saints

Pete Werner filling in for the injured Demario Davis, played 100% snaps wore the green dot, and produced six tackles.

New York Giants

Bobby Okereke is a current sell to me as his production is dwindling fast, Micah McFadden is the teams clear LB2 now.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Payton Wilson’s usage rate was hovering around 56% but played more snaps than Elandon Roberts. Might be the conversation to be the team’s next LB2, too early to tell.

San Francisco 49ers

The Stat line will not tell you the entire story here.

You will have to keep an eye on the injury reports this week. All-Pro Fred Warner suffered an injury making De’Vondre Campbell the lone 100% every down player for this team. Given the injury to Greenlaw as well, this team has already been razor-thin at the position.

Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles took over the three-down role and wore the green dot. On paper, it looks like he was 71% snap use, but after the injury to Warner, he leapfrogged in as LB1 and played all but two snaps the entire rest of the game. Foolish manager will rush to get De’Vondre Campbell off waivers, but it was Flannigan-Fowles would be a top waiver target to own.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

We continue to see Lavonte David get LB1 snap share but hasn’t been as effective. The LB2 path cleared up with an injury to SirVocea Dennis leaving K.J. Britt with an 89.5% snap share. Having back-to-back weeks of six tackles, Britt could be streamable during upcoming bye weeks.
