Here are some of the most intriguing storylines we have seen in Week 7.

Buffalo Bills

Terrel Bernard went down with another injury to his head and ankle. Baylon Spector replaced Bernard and took over the green dot when Bernard was off the field. Dorian Williams played 73% of snaps and continued his LB2 role.

Carolina Panthers

Trevin Wallace played 100% and wore the green dot. We still have no idea if Josey Jewell is healthy yet, so the rotation amongst backups continued. This week it was Chandler Wooten playing 73% of snap usage.

Cincinnati Bengals

Don’t look now but Logan Wilson (84) and Germaine Pratt (82) lead the position this week in snaps. They both continue to thrive as every-down linebackers. Wilson wore the green dot, while Pratt became the number 2 scoring linebacker on 1-2-3 scoring platforms.

Pratt is sort of being slept on, as he is third in the NFL in tackles (71) and second in the league in solos (43), this is impressive given his ADP over several more notable linebackers you had to draft rounds earlier.

Cleveland Browns

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah wore the green dot and remained the every-down linebacker over the often-injured Jordan Hicks, who returned this week. There is a rotation going on now between Mohamoud Diabate and Hicks and that is something I want no part of.

Denver Broncos

Be honest, IDP Managers were scared when they saw Kwon Alexander get the start in Week 7 but that did not last long.

Gary Davenport on X: “To all you #FFIDP managers wondering what the **** happened with Justin Strnad, join the club. Elevate Kwon Alexander’s corpse from the PS and then start him over a guy who had been playing well. Makes sense.” / X

Rest assured Justin Strnad did in fact take back over, playing 74% of the snaps. Cody Barton wore the dot and played every down, producing 8 tackles and a sack plus a touchdown. Kudos for the managers who got this right.

Green Bay Packers

This game started with Quay Walker and Isaiah McDuffie being the starters, but then Quay Walker suffered a concussion, limiting him to just 13 snaps. Eric Wilson took over the green dot for the remainder of the game. Wilson could be a solid pickup and could get 100% usage next week if injuries remain. Cooper and McDuffie are the afterthoughts here and will be rotated in as LB3.

Houston Texans

In this odd case, we have seen both backup linebackers log 100% snaps. With no one else to call on this depth chart, both Jake Hansen and Neville Hewitt played 100% of the snaps. Hewitt wore the dot, so he would be the waiver priority if Azeez Al-Shaair or Henry To’oTo’o aren’t available this week, but there’s a strong chance that Christian Harris will come back off the IR.

Indianapolis Colts

E.J. Speed was inactive, so Jaylon Carlies went ballistic but went down with an injury. Grant Stuard then came in (having never played a defensive snap all season) and produced 12 tackles. This battle of the backups is exactly how it sounds. They serve no value if either Speed or Franklin is available, but there’s volume for tackles to go around only if injuries occur but that’s not worth a waiver claim for me.

Miami Dolphins

David Long and Anthony Walker have been splitting snaps before the bye week. This week Long only received 67% of snaps and Walker was taken in the other 32%, because of this I am not interested in anyone here but Jordyn Brooks, as David Long cannot be trusted post-injury.

Minnesota Vikings

Ivan Pace Jr. played every snap, wearing the green dot, and was elite! He will get another crack as an every-down linebacker as Cashman is expected to be out again next week.

Pace produced ten tackles, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown was crucial in sparking the Vikings’ comeback effort. Not only did it bring the team within striking distance, but it also prevented the Lions from extending their lead and sealing the game. On top of that, Pace added a sack to his impressive performance.

New England Patriots

Christian Elliss got promoted and outworked Raekwon McMillan and became the starter, taking the full role alongside Jahlani Tavai. Kyle Dugger wore the green dot making this linebacker corps even more irrelevant.

New York Jets

Jamien Sherwood started again this week as C.J. Mosley continues to work in a reduced role while he works his way back to full strength.  Sherwood produced 9 tackles against the Steelers, showing you can trust him in your lineup as long as he is one of the top 2 starting linebackers.

Philadelphia Eagles

Something your friends don’t know. Zack Baun got hurt late in the game, and Jeremiah Trotter played a few snaps. If Baun’s injury becomes worse, Trotter is the only inside linebacker left now that Devin White has been let go. Trotter can be a sneaky IDP pickup for managers paying attention and watching games as the box scores didn’t show you how this played out.

Nakobe Dean played every snap, until the Eagles rested the defensive starters in the 4th quarter, and had a breakout game with 11 tackles and 2 sacks.

Tennessee Titans

Kenneth Murray missed some time with a shoulder injury, which doesn’t sound too serious. The ghost of Jack Gibbens wore the green dot while Murray was out.
