5 Start, 5 Sit for Week 11 of the 2023 NFL Season

We’re more than halfway through the season now and nothing is what we expected it to be. First round picks are being outperformed by undrafted rookies and Joshua Dobbs is a top 10 fantasy quarterback. What I have for you is some insight that might make it easier for you to make that final push toward a playoff spot. Just like always: 5 good, 5 bad.

Kyler Murray vs HOU – Start

We finally got to see what the Cardinals look like with Kyler this year and it went about as I expected. There was definitely some rust, but the team looks so much better than with Clayton Tune. I think Murray will be able to do a lot more this week with another week of reps under his belt. The Texans have been playing lights out recently, so I’m expecting the Cardinals to have to put in some major work to keep up. I expect a big game from Kyler Murray.

Rachaad White vs SF – Start

Rachaad White continues to have top 10 production despite being on a bottom 5 rushing team. His usefulness in the passing game is his strength, and against a rejuvenated 49ers, the Bucs will be passing a lot. White has scored three times in the past two weeks, and while that might be hard to do this week, he should still put up RB1/2 numbers for you.

Noah Brown vs ARI – Start

Noah Brown likely isn’t going to be your WR1 this week, but with how he has been producing, he might get close. He’s had over 150 yards the past two weeks and has been a huge part of the reason the Texans have been playing well. Most likely he will fit into your flex spot, but he has serious upside. Even if Nico Collins comes back to play this week, the Texans pass enough to give him good value. If you need a bye week or injury fill, give Noah Brown a shot.

Trey McBride vs HOU – Start

It’s possible that we are seeing the emergence of yet another great tight end. Two of the past three weeks, McBride has led his team in targets and fantasy points. He was the only pass catcher on the Cardinals to have a decent game last week with Murray’s return, which leads me to believe that he will continue to be targeted heavily by his quarterback. McBride is establishing himself as one of the premier tight ends in the league, so you definitely want him in your starting lineup.

D.J. Moore vs DET – Start

After a few quiet weeks, D.J. Moore is finally getting his quarterback back on the field. When the pair was starting to heat up, Moore was getting close to top 5 WR territory. Now that Fields is back, I expect Moore to trend back toward dominance. The Lions don’t have a particularly lock-down defense, so he should have a pretty easy time getting the ball. As long as Fields is truly healthy, D.J. Moore should be back on top of the WR charts.

Sit:

Jared Goff vs CHI – Sit

Jared Goff has been having a fantastic season. My “sit” recommendation this week is only because I think he won’t be near the high end of scorers. The Lions have been tearing it up on the ground and the Bears run defense is pretty awful. With that in mind, I’m not sure how involved Goff’s arm will be in this game. Unless you don’t have a better option, it might be best to keep Goff on the bench.

Tony Pollard vs CAR – Sit

Tony Pollard’s season has been like one of those big slides at an amusement park. At first it’s thrilling and exciting, but it turns out to be kinda boring and you really wish you had spent your time doing something else. He has only had one 100-yard game this year and hasn’t been in the end zone since week 1! The Cowboys’ offensive scheme just doesn’t seem to be favoring him like it did last year. Whatever the issue is, Pollard is not worth playing at this point. Until he starts producing, keep him out of your lineup.

Diontae Johnson vs CLE – Sit

Since coming back from injury, Diontae Johnson has had a few decent games (by Steelers’ standards), but hasn’t really been phenomenal. This week he gets to face the stifling Browns defense which is top 10 against fantasy receivers. Even if he were on a team with a real offense, I wouldn’t be recommending him. Considering the fact that he plays in Pittsburgh, I definitely don’t want him in my starting lineup. Stay clear of Steelers.

David Njoku vs CLE – Sit

On the other side of that game, the Browns offense is seemingly no better off. Deshaun Watson is getting season ending surgery, meaning that Dorian Thompson-Robinson is getting the starting nod. Even though Njoku has been playing really well the past several weeks, the experience with DTR earlier in the season has me wary. It’s possible that Njoku can still perform well, but I think I’d want to wait and see.

Adam Thielen vs DAL – Sit

There was a stretch of games where Adam Thielen was a top 5 fantasy scorer, but everything changed after the bye week. He still gets targeted a ton but hasn’t been able to do much with those opportunities. The Cowboys defense is brutal to fantasy receivers and I don’t see the Panthers of all teams breaking that streak. Keep him on your bench where you can.
