Chop Robinson – Rookie IDP Player Profile

Chop Robinson was drafted as the #21 player overall (EDGE4) in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Miami Dolphins. Demeioun “Chop” Robinson is an athletic defender who joins a fairly stacked Edge/OLB room. He will be playing alongside Bradley Chubb, Shaquil Barrett, and Jaelan Phillips and this may make it difficult to see as much of the field as some of the other rookie EDGE players. Barrett was brought over on a one-year deal and is expected to be the rotational player, and Phillips is coming off of a season-ending injury so anything could happen. Drafting Robinson and expecting immediate production may not be the way to approach him in fantasy football. I believe Chop Robinson could be used in a rotation and though he has potential for spike weeks, I would say target him more so in Dynasty or redraft best ball formats.

Strengths

Most athletic EDGE in the draft class, like FREAK athleticism

Intense speed off of the EDGE, with lower body flexibility allowing for great bend in pass-rush

Holds his own no matter the size of the tackle in front of him

Weaknesses

His production numbers in college don’t jump off of the page

Not great at taking on blockers, hand placement can be messy

Pass-rush and counter moves in the trenches could use refining
