IDP Player Profile – Micheal Clemons
2022 Stats: 16 games, 331 defensive snaps, 235 special team snaps, 7 pressures, 6 quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, 4 TFL and 36 tackles.
A player that I am keeping a close eye on is Micheal Clemons, an edge rusher for the New York Jets. Clemons was a rookie last season and was drafted in the 4th round of an outstanding draft class for the Jets. Clemons had a very impressive preseason which ensured he made the team’s final roster.
Michael Clemons may be the most ferocious player the Jets have had in a very long time. And it's still the preseason.

During the regular season Clemons was a rotational guy behind Carl Lawson on the right side of the defensive line. Lawson was utilized more on passing downs which gave Clemons on the opportunity to impress with his run defense and tackling. Clemons’ tackle rate was around 9% which is in the top tier for edge rushers.
There are rumors that Carl Lawson will be cut from the Jets in the near future which will open up a starting spot. John Franklin-Meyers and Jermaine Johnson II both played predominately on the left side of the line in 2022. Either of these players could switch to the right side in 2023 to start over Clemons but either way we expect Clemons should see an increase in opportunities and playing time in 2023.
I see the potential for Clemons to be a solid DL3 or DL4 to have on your dynasty roster. He is not someone you would want to use every week but rather a guy to trust during bye weeks or as an injury replacement. Now would be a great time to pick up Clemons for free while he is still on waivers in most leagues.
