IDP Waiver Wire for Week 10

On my vacation last week, I went up to Wisconsin for a fishing trip. It was exactly the peace and quiet I needed to recharge my batteries for writing these waiver articles the rest of the campaign. Here’s to spending more time doing the things that we love!

The numbers in parentheses next to the player’s name represent their ownership on Sleeper. Any scoring references will be in the IDP123 system.

Defensive Line

When it comes to the defensive line, I like to ride the hot hand. There aren’t too many players outperforming Titans’ edge Arden Key (1%) at the moment. He has four sacks in three games as well as two forced fumbles. Key also reached a fantastic 87% snap share in Week 9.

If you’re in a DT-required league, I’d keep an eye on Vita Vea (3%). The Buccaneers veteran posted 10 tackles (seven solo) and two sacks against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. His biggest question mark is always his health, but there’s no present concerns. Also, starting in Week 12, Vea has a string of very favorable matchups where he’ll play the Giants, Panthers, and Raiders.

Other options: Kobie Turner (31%), Rams; Dante Fowler (13%), Commanders; Nik Bonitto (21%), Broncos;

Linebackers

I highlighted Titans linebacker Jack Gibbens (14%) as a possible pickup in last week’s article. Of course, we wanted to see whether newly acquired competition Jerome Baker would make a run at the role. It didn’t happen in Sunday’s contest as Gibbens played 100% of snaps and made 14 tackles (five solo) along with a half sack. Brian Callahan was also very complimentary of the journeyman in his postgame remarks. I suggest you jump on the opportunity to add this type of production to your roster.

The Browns linebacker situation played out as we thought it would with Mohamoud Diabate (13%) and  Devin Bush (15%) assuming the starter roles in place of the injured JOK and Jordan Hicks. Diabate played the larger snap share of 91% compared to Bush’s 81%. Bush did produce a better stat line; however, I’d prioritize Diabate if both are available due to the playing time.

It looks like Anthony Weaver has David Long Jr. in the doghouse. He didn’t see a single snap versus Buffalo this week. That has given Anthony Walker (11%) the opportunity to assume a full-time role next to Jordyn Brooks. He grabbed 10 tackles (four solo) in the contest and didn’t perform too poorly. If Long were to be traded at the deadline that would solidify Walker’s value for the rest of the season.

Other options: Anfernee Jennings (14%), Patriots; and Christian Rozeboom (21%), Rams.

Defensive Backs

I’m going to keep it short and sweet with the defensive backs. There are plenty of options  regardless of league size. One option that I really love is Panthers safety Demani Richardson (3%). He’s stepped in for the injured Nick Scott and scored double digit tackles in back-to-back weeks. With a 100% snap share to boot, Richardson is somebody worth claiming and starting if you are short at DB.

Other options: Tykee Smith (14%), Buccaneers; Jeremy Chinn (37%), Commanders; Kenny Moore (39%), Colts.
