IDP Waiver Wire for Week 4

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 4. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues.

Defensive Linemen

Josh Sweat – He is one the top 5 players in pressures this season with 10 through the first two weeks. He also recorded 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and seven tackles through three weeks. This week he will be facing the Commanders, the most sacked team by edge rushers in the league, tied with the Titans. I expect a big week for this defensive line and Sweat.

Keep an eye on: Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Denico Autry
Options for deeper leagues: Victor Dimukeje and Jordan Davis

Linebackers

Kamu Grugier-Hill – It’s possible that Grugier-Hill should have been on our waiver wire list last week, but I wanted to see how the linebacker usage would look in week 3 without Shaq Thompson. He played 67% of the snaps, while Deion Jones played 69% and Frankie Luvu 51%. With that playing time, Hill recorded 10 combined tackles. For this week, we don’t know the severity of Luvu’s injury. Luvu left the game in the third quarter with a hip injury, so Grugier-Hill is a must add, especially because the Panthers will be facing the Vikings, a team that has allowed a good number of tackles to linebackers.

Keep an eye on: Terrel Bernard, Micah McFadden
Sack heavy/Deeper leagues: Byron Young, Deion Jones, Blake Cashman

Defensive Backs

Kei’Trel Clark – Clark is a player that was on my radar since the Cardinals drafted him, especially because they had a poor cornerback group last season, but also because Clark played a lot of nickel in the college. In this beginning of the season he became the starter as an outside corner and recorded 18 combined tackles and 4 pass defenses. This week will play against the 49ers’ dynamic offense and will have the chance to record a good number of tackles again.

Keep an eye on: Amani Hooker, Brandon Stephens
Options for deeper leagues: Alontae Taylor, Emmanuel Forbes
