IDP Waiver Wire for Week 6

IDP Waiver Wire for Week 6

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 6. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues.

Teams on bye in week 6 include the Packers and Steelers.

Defensive Linemen

Ed Oliver (DT-Bills) – Ed Oliver is having a great season so far, being dominant inside he has recorded 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 9 quarterback hits, 8 pressures and 24 tackles in the first 5 games. This week, the Bills will be facing the Giants and it’s a very interesting matchup for Oliver. The Bills defense has the most sacks this season (21), while the Giants is the team that allowed more sacks in the league (30) and also allowed more sacks to the interior defensive line (9).

Other Options: Michael Danna, Leonard Floyd, David Onyemata.

Linebackers

Henry To’oTo’o (LB-Texans) – The rookie player started the season behind the veteran linebackers, Perryman and Harris, but when both got injured, he became the LB1 of this franchise. DeMeco Ryans, the head coach, always has great linebackers on his defenses and selected To’oTo’o to be another great one. Playing more than 80% of the snaps since week 2, To’oTo’o has recorded no less than 7 combined tackles per game and 3 pass deflections. This week the Texans will be facing New Orleans, a team that doesn’t allow a big number of tackles to linebackers, in average. But the tackles have increased since Alvin Kamara returned from suspension.

Other Options: Kenneth Murray, E.J. Speed, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Tyrel Dodson.

Defensive Backs

Julius Brents (CB-Colts) – I know, another cornerback Pedro? Yes, but let me explain. Brents had a great number of tackles against the Rams (9), a team that passes a lot. And even though he didn’t have as many tackles against teams that run more, like the Ravens and Titans, he still put up great fantasy numbers. This week the Colts won’t have Anthony Richardson for the matchup against the divisional rival Jaguars. This makes me think in one thing: the defense will be on the field a lot. The Jaguars offense is the 2nd in the league with plays (348) and is a team that allows numerous tackles to cornerbacks. These teams already faced each other in Week 1, but Brents was a healthy scratch at the time.

Other Options: Jason Pinnock, Tony Adams and DaRon Bland.
