IDP Waiver Wire for Week 7

IDP Waiver Wire for Week 7

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 7. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues.

Teams on bye this week include the Bengals, Cowboys, Jets, Panthers, Texans and Titans.

Defensive Linemen

Vita Vea (DT – Buccaneers)

Vea is a top 10 DT in the league and he has a great tackling consistency. He’s not only good against run, but he’s also great pass rusher. This season, he had at least 3 tackles per game, plus he has added 2 forced fumbles and 3.5 sacks and 6 pressures.

This week, Vea will be facing the Falcons, a team that runs a lot with the ball, and a top 10 team in two stats that made me choose Vea: sacks allowed and tackles allowed to DT.

Great options too: Travon Walker, Dexter Lawrence, Bilal Nichols and Casey Toohill

Linebackers

Kenneth Murray (LB – Chargers): rostered 7%, according to Sleeper

Murray has been a 100% snaps player this season and lately has also been wearing the green dot for the defense. He currently has a 7 tackle average, plus 1 sack and 1 interception through five games. This week, the Chargers will be facing the Chiefs, a team has been consistently a top 5 in tackles allowed to linebackers.

Great options too: Jahlani Tavai, Kwon Alexander and Nate Landman.

Defensive Backs

Josh Metellus ( S – Vikings)

Playing everywhere on this Brian Flores defense, Metellus has been very consistent in the first 6 weeks. Always having, at least, 5 tackles per game, Josh had his best career game last week, when he recorded 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 quarterback hits, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble against the Bears. This week, he will face San Francisco, possibly without Christian McCaffrey, which may force Purdy to pass the ball to more Aiyuk and Kittle. This could allow more tackle opportunities to the defensive backs. Through five weeks, the 49ers have allowed the 9th most tackles to opposing safeties.

Great options too: Justin Reid, Alontae Taylor and Martin Emerson.
