Linebacker Injury Report Week 11
Below are some injuries worth monitoring as we start Week 11. Please consider these players’ injuries when setting your lineups.
Atlanta Falcons
A healthy Troy Andersen was great news last week. However, with just 25% of the snaps, the team either knows something or wants to ease him back in. Nate Landman vultures those potential snaps for Andersen and received 83%, assuming both are indeed healthy as the report indicated it would be Anderson LB2 and Landman LB3 with a close 60/40% snap count—something IDP managers will have to monitor week-to-week as Andersen is on limited participation in practice.
Dallas Cowboys
Last week, the Cowboys had a major setback when DeMarvion Overshown got injured with a knee injury. It appears this week that has cleared up. Reports indicate he has bursitis, but the injury isn’t believed to be serious, and as of right now Overshown has been limited but set to play this week. This is great news considering the amount of injuries this team is facing.
Detroit Lions
Jack Campbell is an every-down linebacker when Malcolm Rodriguez is out with injuries. That time may be ending soon.
New Orleans Saints
We got news today that Saints linebacker Pete Werner still has not participated in practice. Werner left Sunday’s game due to a hand injury and never came back in. This is huge news considering Werner has been putting up his usual LB2 numbers again. Should he remain sidelined for any time, Willie Gay Jr. is the direct pickup to own. While several other players stand a chance to rotate in, Gay is the player who can support a two-down role and replace that tackle production. When Werner misses time, Gay was the direct replacement, and with his 17% of snaps being short work, he made do with three tackles.
New York Jets
C.J. Mosley is still down, giving Jamien Sherwood value (90%+ snaps in the last 8 games) for another week.
New England Patriots
Not exactly news but will give this as a bonus. Sione Takitaki did not practice and Christian Elliss was limited. This opens the door wide for Jahlani Tavai, who is the literal last man standing in lineups now. Kudos to smart managers who traded for him cheaply before the trade deadline, as he logs 79% of snaps or greater, in 9 out of the last ten games. We mentioned it on this week’s podcast you can check that out here. Top IDP Streamers for TNF Fantasy Football Week 11+IDP+Betting I wanted to take a moment to highlight the injury of Takitaki, as Tavai now remains the only available Veteran in this linebacker corps. With McMillan waived it is possible that he becomes the team’s LB2, and that could be a clever stash in the deepest formats of IDP. He signed a 2-year, $6.6 Million deal with 3-mil guaranteed so that is considered starter money, has played in 43 games and achieved 237 tackles. Takitaki doesn’t feel like a major player to report yet, but if he could shake the injuries, could make the case as a dart throw.
