Linebacker Injury Report Week 12

Below are some injuries worth monitoring as we start Week 11. Please consider these players’ injuries when setting your lineups.

The big news is Eric Kendricks dealing with both groin and shoulder injuries. This is to be expected with older players having setbacks this late in the season. All reports seem to indicate that he is questionable and will attempt to lay Week 13 but it’s coming down to the wire. Since it is a short week, we have to assume a pivot. The next man up is DeMarvion Overshown who racked up a team-high 5 sacks in 2024 and can play the green dot if called upon.

Green Bay Packers

This one is interesting as we have potentially another two linebacker injuries. Last week we witnessed promising rookie Edgerrin Cooper go down due to injury, Isaiah McDuffie was the next man up logging an 84% snap share. Well, it looks like neither of them is practicing at this time. The next man up in this rotation is Eric Wilson who has shown he could play when he is given an adequate role, last week had 53% of snaps with three tackles. Consider Wilson if you are deep enough as he has generated 20 tackles in the four games he has received 50%+ or greater snap use.

At the time of this writing, the Vikings are reporting no injuries but if you watched last week’s game, Ivan Pace suffered from a hamstring injury in the first quarter and was out. If this lingers the pickup here is  Kamu Grugier-Hill (last week 59% with three tackles) as he team’ LB2. Could serve as a free player in deep formats.

Anthony Walker during the game went down with a hamstring injury. Reports on NFL.com state that he felt to be in significant pain. With the Dolphins playing an early game this Thursday I do not see him playing anyway. All signs point to Tyrel Dodson taking over after impressing last week, 70% with five tackles, every down after the injuries. This should be Dodson’s job anyhow moving forward and the IDP managers could expect every down work.

New York Jets

News broke this morning that C.J. Mosley is finally healthy and fully practicing today. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here. If you read team reports the struggling 3-8 Jets have no reason to play for, and are taking the correct approach when dealing with a neck injury to an older player. All thoughts suggest they are taking a cautious approach so we as IDP managers need to manage our own personal expectations. The 32-year-old has been sidelined for the past month with ho-hum results, four games (three starts), recording 17 tackles. To quote Mosely “I don’t want to rush it. I’m just taking it one day at a time. Progress has been steady each day and week, and I’m staying positive. Today, I did some light tackling and more striking drills. That’s where things stand,” is clear enough so do not be rushing him into lineups while 2025 Unrestricted Free Agent Jamien Sherwood is still in town and could play out his situation.
