Waiver Wire Adds for Offense – Week 4
Ryan Odell and Stephen Chalmers
It’s Stephen and Ryan back with another installment of the waiver wire adds for RPO Football. It seems like we can’t go a week without a major injury. Sunday we saw WR Mike Williams go down with a torn ACL. Williams was off to a torrid start as he sat as the WR15 through the first three weeks. Unfortunately, injuries are a part of the game. Let’s look at some players that could be on your waiver wire to help combat with those injuries.
Sam LaPorta DET TE
Ryan and I wanted to mention him last week. But we gave the nod to Hunter Henry. After week three he absolutely deserves to be on this list. We saw Sam LaPorta command a 33% target share leading to a 11 target, 8 reception, 84 yard day. Oh yeah and he scored! He currently sits at tight end #2 on the player rater and if he’s on your waiver wire, he won’t be for long.
De’Von Achane MIA RB
What a historic day for the Miami offense in week 3. But better yet what a historic day for the rookie. 203 yards on the ground, four catches for another 30 receiving yards, and 4…. Count ‘em 4 touchdowns. I do expect Raheem Mostert to continue to get his fair share of touches. But Achane will get his as well.
Josh Palmer LAC WR
Referencing the Mike Williams earlier in the article was a preview. Yes the chargers drafted Quentin Johnston in the first round this year. He also hasn’t played more than 27% of the offensive snaps in the team’s first three games. Meanwhile Josh Palmer has played more than 54% of the team’s offensive snaps in all three games. In 2022 when injuries plagued the Chargers we watched Palmer produce five top thirty finishes and two top ten finishes. He’s the WR2 I want from the Chargers right now.
Adam Thielen CAR WR
The preseason talk about the Carolina Panthers was this offense wasn’t going to great, but someone has to be the guy. Well here we are and Adam Thielen currently sits at wide receiver #9 on the player rater. Through three games he has 25 targets, 20 catches, 211 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns. A very solid start to begin the 2023 season for this 33-year-old wide receiver.
