IDP Waiver Wire for Week 15
If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 15. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues. Playoffs are starting now and all help is welcome.
Defensive Linemen
Jonathan Greenard (Edge – HOU): A few weeks ago, I wrote about him being an excellent option for the playoffs and now it’s his time. Greenard recorded a sack in the past two weeks and already has 10 sacks on the season. This week he will have a really good matchup to add even more sacks to his total. The Titans are Top 5 in allowing sacks but have also allowed the second most sacks to edge rushers, 32.5 in 13 games. The Titans are also a great matchup in tackles allowed to edge rushers, they rank sixth.
Additional Options: Derrick Brown, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Kobie Turner.
Linebackers
Jahlani Tavai (LB – NE): Tavai had a new career best number of tackles last week, 14. He is regularly playing 70% of snaps and the Patriots are showing confidence in him. Even though the Patriots like to rotate their starters, Tavai has been playing quite a bit recently. This week, he will face the Chiefs in a game that could end up being one-sided. Even though the Chiefs haven’t been the best matchup for linebackers, they might be able to take a decent lead and turn to the run game, which would be good for Tavai’s production.
Additional Options: Khaleke Hudson and Micah McFadden.
Defensive Backs
P.J. Locke (Safety – DEN): We have at least one more week of Locke as the starter as Kareem Jackson finishes his current four-game suspension. We don’t know what to expect for Locke next week, but we like his matchup this week. This week he will face Detroit, a top 10 in fantasy points allowed to safeties. Detroit is also Top 5 in allowing tackles to safeties and last week, Jaquan Brisker, who plays on the same role as Locke, recorded 16 tackles. Locke has recorded a sack every game, since becoming the starter, and has at least seven tackles in each of the past three games.
Geno Stone (Safety – BAL): Smith is an interesting player that is not getting a lot of respect. He has the second most interceptions in the league with six. Now, with the news that Kyle Hamilton is a week-to-week, Geno is expected to get 100% snaps. This week he will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game that is likely to be electrifying with two playoff bound teams.
Additional Option: Jordan Howden and Jartavius Martin.
