IDP Start and Sit for Week 12

Before we dive into the week 12 IDP starts and sits I want to say thank you. Thank you to everybody that reads our RPO articles. I personally love sharing with you my insight and thoughts about this game we love. I hope everybody has a safe and happy thanksgiving with loved ones.

Last week we got 60% correct. Cashman coming out with 40 points was a huge surprise for me. Part of me thinks some of these guys read that I am sitting them, and say, “Hold my beer”. It happens to the best of us. This week the goal is to hit at least 70% correct with some fruitful matchups. Before we jump into Week 12, let’s take a look at the picks we got right in Week 11.

*Side note- a sit to me is somebody that will get 10 or less fantasy points for you.*

Week 11 Starts (4 Pass, 1 Fail)

Daron Payne– 9pts – Fail; Harold Landry– 11pts – Pass; Alex Singleton– 28pts – Pass; Eric Kendricks– 17pts – Pass; Keanu Neal (inactive) pivot option- Kevin Byard– 27pts – Pass

Week 11 Sits (2 Pass, 3 Fail)

Leonard Williams– 5pts – Pass; Chase Young– 8pts – Pass; Divine Deablo– 13pts – Fail; Blake Cashman– 40pts – Fail; Quandre Diggs– 21pts – Fail

START

DL- Tuli Tuipulotu (LAC) vs Baltimore Ravens (START)

Tuipulotu is seeing all the opportunity this week. He saw 92% of snaps last week. The most on the season for him. The Ravens have a top 10 offensive line according to PFF. They have also allowed Lamar Jackson to be sacked the 6th most times in the NFL. The Ravens will possibly have more focus on blocking dominant pass rusher Khalil Mack. Tuipulotu should see the field a good amount this week opposite Mack. Watch him bring the pressure and capitalizing on it.

DL- Jaelan Phillips (MIA) @ New York Jets (START)

Phillips is on a four-game sack streak right now. He had 2 last week! The Jets offensive line has allowed the 2nd most sacks to a starting quarterback this season (38). Phillips should have a clear path to continuing his sack streak. He is a must start for me this week.

LB- Ivan Pace (MIN) vs Chicago Bears (START)

He is a full go. Last week he saw 100% of the snaps. He should be on the field for the majority of this game. We saw him get more snaps to begin the season, then he got benched. That feeling of “I’m replaceable” sank into his mind. He came out last week saying I’m not replaceable, I’m him. He is a great linebacker that never should have been undrafted. Start him and watch him soar. The Bears offensive line has not been the best protecting the quarterback either. We may see Pace get some pressure on Fields with a possible sack.

LB- Tremaine Edmunds (CHI) @ Minnesota Vikings (START)

On the opposite side of the field, I am starting Edmunds. He missed two games and came back last week seeing 66% of snaps. He did not disappoint. He gained 8 total tackles plus an interception and pass deflection. Josh Dobbs is playing well, but the running backs are not. They are almost allowing every tackle to connect. Edmunds should see the field a bit more than last week. Perhaps Edmunds repeats his Week 6 performance versus Minnesota where he had 6 total tackles and a fumble recovery.

DB- Kevin Byard (PHI) vs Buffalo Bills (START)

Since being traded to the Eagles, Byard has not missed a beat. He is averaging 6 solo tackles a game in the past 4 games. Byard is good at breaking down on the ball. The Bills like to pass the ball meaning Byard could see opportunity to potentially get an interception. This opportunity is more fruitful considering Josh Allen has thrown at least one interception in the past 7 weeks, 12 on the season. He has seen 100% of snaps in all but one game this season. He should be starting until he gives a reason not to.

Additional Players to consider starting:

Steelers – Cameron Heyward

Lions – Aidan Hutchinson

Commanders – Cody Barton

Saints – Tyrann Mathieu

Titans – Amani Hooker

SIT

DL- Travon Walker (JAX) @ Houston Texans  (SIT)

He has seen the field for 78.3% of snaps. He has only recorded 4 sacks. Walker has not had over 4 tackles since week 1, when he had 6 total tackles. This matchup looks fruitful since C.J. Stroud has been sacked 22 times. Stroud is starting to slow down the game. He knows how important a divisional matchup is. I think we see Stroud escaping the pressure more than we see Walker capitalizing on it. Keep him on your bench.

DL- Brian Burns (CAR) @ Tennessee Titans (SIT)

This game could allow Burns to get a sack. Considering the Titans have a mediocre offensive line. Burns has played over 70% of snaps in all but one game. He has not been effective with his time on the field. In his last 3 games, two of which he’s seen over 80% of snaps, he only has 8 total tackles. The Titans may choose to run the ball with Derrick Henry & Tyjae Spears, which could hurt Burns even more. He only has 6 run stops in his last 3 games. He has been inconsistent all season and I do not see a path to better efficiency this week.

LB- Haason Reddick (PHI) vs Buffalo Bills  (SIT)

One might be tempted to start him. He does have 8.5 sacks in the last 7 games. The Bills protect their star quarterback. If pressure gets past the line, Josh Allen simply escapes and keeps the play alive. Reddick will see the field plenty, but I think he struggles against these blockers.

LB- Jordyn Brooks (SEA) vs San Francisco 49ers (SIT)

Brooks has been struggling as of late. Over the last 2 weeks he has seen 89.8% of snaps. In that span he only has 6 total tackles. His opponent is not getting easier this week. The 49ers specialize in making the defender miss. Even if he continues to see a high snap count, I think I am only comfortable starting Bobby Wagner this week. Keep Brooks on your bench.

DB- Ji’Ayir Brown (SF) @ Seattle Seahawks (SIT)

Speaking of the 49ers, Brown should see an increase in playing time with Talanoa Hufanga set to miss time. The rookie stepped in last week and recorded 4 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and one interception. The thing is, Seattle likes to run the ball. Plus, Geno Smith is banged up, which may give them more incentive to go run-heavy this week. This sounds more like a possible game for the front seven of San Francisco rather than the secondary.

Additional Players to consider sitting:

Colts – Kwity Paye

Cardinals – Zaven Collins

Steelers – Elandon Roberts

Colts – E.J. Speed

Seahawks – Jamal Adams
