IDP Waiver Wire for Week 14

IDP Waiver Wire for Week 14

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 14. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues. It should also be noted that Jerome Baker and Elandon Roberts suffered injuries this past week.

Teams on bye this week include the Cardinals and Commanders.

Defensive Linemen

Andrew Van Ginkel (edge – MIA): Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles on Black Friday and left a starting spot open for Van Ginkel to shine again. Playing inside and on the edge in the beginning of the season, he put up solid numbers in a rotation. In a bigger role this past week, Van Ginkel recorded five tackles, two quarterback hits and a pick six. This week, he will be facing the Titans, a top 5 team in allowing sacks, but ranked second in sacks allowed to edge rushers. The Titans are also top 10 in tackles allowed to edge rushers. These stats make Van Ginkel a really good option in  week 14.

Additional Options: Jonathan Greenard, Preston Smith and Johnathan Hankins.

Linebackers

Mykal Walker (linebacker – PIT): Walker is on his fourth team this year but it wasn’t until he joined the Steelers that he got a chance for meaningful action on the field. He has played in the past three games following a series of injuries to Pittsburgh’s linebackers. First Cole Holcomb had a season ending injury, then came Kwon Alexander and this past week Elandon Roberts suffered a groin injury. We still don’t know the severity of Roberts’ injury, but he tried to return to the game and seemed to re-aggravate the groin injury. Now, the Steelers only have Walker, Mark Robinson and former retired, Blake Martinez, in their linebacker room. Walker recorded 10 tackles against the Cardinals last week and this week he will have a chance to repeat this performance against the Patriots, a team that typically allows a lot of tackles to linebackers. And after all, it is not every day you may find a potential every-down linebacker on waivers.

Adicional Options: E.J. Speed, Markquese Bell, Jack Gibbens and Duke Riley.

Defensive Backs

Quandre Diggs (safety – SEA): Two weeks ago, we saw the Seahawks take on the 49ers and we get to see the rematch this week. Diggs is primarily a deep safety and sometimes that scares everyone, but against the 49ers it is a good thing. The 49ers allow the second most tackles to safeties in the league. During the last three games, Diggs has been very consistent and this week he will have all the tools to have another productive week and give you a solid amount of fantasy points. In Week 12 he recorded 6 tackles and a defended pass

Additional Options: Markquese Bell, Quentin Lake and Paulson Adebo.
