IDP Waiver Wire for Week 17

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 17. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues. The final is one step away and if your IDP players have a bad matchup, maybe being bold is a great alternative. Also, we have players like D.J. Wonnum and Elandon Roberts injured.

Defensive Linemen

Malcolm Koonce (edge – LV): Koonce has been a spicy name the past two weeks and seems to benefitting from Josh McDaniels’ departure. He started the year being a rotational player with a very small amount of snaps and modest numbers. Since week 9, he has 7 sacks in 7 games with 3 forced fumbles. Maxx Crosby will always require a lot of attention, which leaves room for the other defensive linemen. The Colts are a top 12 matchup in sacks and top 3 in allowing tackles to edge rushers, this makes Koonce a really good player for the week and a player to keep on your dynasty roster for the next season.

Additional Options: Tanoh Kpassagnon, Travon Walker and Tuli Tuipulotu.

Linebackers

Mykal Walker (ILB – PIT): Elandon Roberts is another linebacker that get injured with a potential season-ending torn pec. Walker stepped up following the Roberts injury and wore the green dot last game, recording 8 tackles. This week Walker will be facing Seattle, which isn’t a great matchup for tackles to linebackers, but it could still be a good game for the opponent’s LB1.

Additional Options: Devin Bush, Jahlani Tavai and Micah McFadden.

Defensive Backs

Mike Hilton (nickel – CIN): Another week that I remind you to get Hilton on waivers. He has been really consistent this season, he has the third most tackles at cornerback position, and still only rostered 3%, according to Sleeper. This week he will be facing a Chiefs team that will do everything to win, a team that may also be without running back Isiah Pacheco. The passing game will be relied upon, and they are already allowing the third most tackles to cornerbacks. Also, the nickel position usually has really good fantasy production against Patrick Mahomes and company, just ask Nate Hobbs and his 11 tackles from Monday.

Additional Options: Jartavius Martin, Anthony Johnson and DeMarcco Hellams.
