IDP Waiver Wire for Week 10

IDP Waiver Wire for Week 10

If you are looking for defensive players to upgrade your roster, check out my list of IDP Waiver Wire additions for week 10. These recommendations are based on a 12-team league with an IDP123 scoring system, but I will also add a few names for deeper leagues.

Teams on bye this week include the Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles and Rams.

Defensive Linemen

Boye Mafe (Edge – SEA): The second-year Edge saw an increase on his usage this season and he is enjoying it. He has the most quarterback pressures and sacks on the Seahawks. Mafe has recorded a sack in six straight games, which makes him a top 20 scoring defensive lineman. According to Sleeper, he is only rostered in 3% of the leagues and this week he will be facing the Commanders, the team with the second most sacks allowed in the league.

Additional Options: DeMarcus Lawrence, David Onyemata and Kevin Strong.

Linebackers

Amari Burney (ILB – LVR)

The Raiders are in a transition time. Josh McDaniels is gone and now the Linebackers coach, Antonio Pierce, has taken over. He created a very light climate in the locker room, but you ask me, why this is important? Because this shows us that the Raiders are focusing on the future. Young players will have time to prove their value and Burney is one of those guys. I’m more than sure that Pierce participated in the Burney pick during the draft. So this allow us to think that Burney will see his usage increase as the season progresses.

Last game, without Deablo and Masterson, he recorded 6 tackles, while playing 51% of the snaps. This week, the Raiders will be facing the New York Jets. This game and these two teams may be tough to watch offensively, but it’s worth tuning in to see the defenders like Maxx Crosby and hopefully more Burney.

Additional Options: Tyrel Dodson, Josh Woods, Sione Takitaki and Jahlani Tavai.

Defensive Backs

Alex Cook (S – CAR)

Cook is an undrafted rookie who is receiving less than $1 million. When a player like that receive a chance to play 100% snaps, do you have any doubt about how he will play? Cook had that chance on Sunday, with Vonn Bell out, and played really well to keep his name on the Panthers roster. Playing most of the time as strong safety, he recorded 7 tackles and 1 tackle-for-loss this past game. This week, the Panthers face the Bears on Thursday and a possible return of Justin Fields. Cook could be a very good name to add if Vonn Bell doesn’t play again. After all, it isn’t every day that we can find a strong safety with 100% of snaps on waivers.

Kyler Gordon (CB – CHI)

Playing mostly in the slot, Gordon hasn’t had a big game yet in his five games played. He has only recorded 21 tackles and 2 defended passes. Although, this week he has the perfect opportunity. He is facing the Panthers, a team that is in the top 3 of tackles allowed to cornerbacks. They are allowing almost 16 tackles on average, and are very generous to cornerbacks lined up in the slot. For example, in week 9, Kenny Moore had 8 tackles and two interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Additional Options: Andre Cisco, Mike Hilton and Alohi Gilman.
