Waiver Wire Adds for Offense – Week 3

Ryan Odell

Nico Collins HOU WR: Rostered 55%

Collins managed to put a blip on my radar when he got 11 targets from rookie C.J. Stroud, and he backed that up with another stellar game highlighting his much-improved route running and work in open space with 20.86 yards per catch with 146 yards and a touchdown. 20 targets through two weeks aren’t too shabby for the third-year pro, as he seems to have found a rhythm. Without great receiving company around him, Collins should continue as Stroud’s number one option. I know he might not be available in deeper leagues, but if he’s still on your waiver wire, he is a big add.

Jerome Ford CLE RB: Rostered 17%

With highly touted and perceived top 5 running back Nick Chubb going down, it’s easy to look at the backup running back for solitude, but I think Ford is in a special situation because despite their star going down, Ford still managed an amazing game with 16 carries, 106 yards and a score. This shows the Browns didn’t shy away from the run game, as a team it had 40 passes and 35 rushes; so look for Ford to keep it rolling going forward as an efficient runner.

Hunter Henry NE TE: Rostered 48%

In a bleak tight end position Henry has shined thus far as Mac Jones‘ safety blanket, shooting him all the way up too tight end #2 on the season. Although Henry may not be the most effective with the ball in his hands, I’ll take the quantity of targets he’ll receive. With his eye-popping 92% snap percentage last week, Henry will have plenty of chances to get the job done and might be a bright spot in a dying position.

Roschon Johnson CHI RB: Rostered 51%

Listen, I know this may be a little too early for some folks, but Roschon Johnson is more of a flag-plant for me personally. He’s shown his effectiveness as a runner already with 5.78 yards per carry despite his low usage this far I think he will take this backfield before the season is over not only because of his YPC, Johnson is a good pass blocker which is so important to the Bears and Justin Fields and already been used in the passing game. Look for his usage to grow as the season goes on.
