Waiver Wire Adds for Offense – Week 9

Ryan Odell and Stephen Chalmers

Welcome back fantasy fanatics to another waiver wire article brought to you by your favorite Delaware Boys and welcome to the fantasy playoff grind! We hope you guys are all sitting comfortably at the top of your leagues, but for those sitting right outside, sit back as we dive into a few players that might be able to take you over the top. Before we get into the adds, if you’re reading this, can we take a moment of silence for Kirk Cousins, a true fantasy legend.

Trey McBride ARI TE Rostered 30%

The Sophomore Tight End out of Colorado State has always shown flashes behind Zach Ertz going back to the end of last season, but with Ertz on injured reserve, it’s McBride’s time to shine. This past week against the Ravens, he caught 10 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. He was also targeted 14 times. In week 9, he faces a tough Cleveland defense with rookie Clayton Tune getting the nod, but with Kyler Murray‘s looming return and good matchups going forward, McBride could help you win some crucial weeks.

Will Levis TEN QB Rostered 8%

Remember the hate Levis was receiving for putting mayo in his coffee? Well, I think in one fell swoop all has been forgiven after an astonishing 238 passing yards and count em’ FOUR touchdowns. Let the Levis hype begin as he should be the starter going forward. Also as previously mentioned, if you lost Kirk Cousins going forward, this rookie could really help you in a bind considering he has the reliable hands of future Hall-of-Famer DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry to distract the defense.

Khalil Shakir BUF WR Rostered 5%

The rookie WR has seen an uptick in usage throughout the season and only has out to beat Deonte Hardy to become the WR3 on the Bills, a team with the 5th most passing yards in the league. Not only that, but in the last two weeks Allen has gone to the rookie in big moments. Shakir has also been proficient when targeted, bringing in 14 out of 15 targets and 5.1 yards after contact. This play should not go unnoticed by the coaching staff and could help him push for more. Look for Shakir to fill in at flex in deep leagues during tough bye weeks.

Jayden Reed GB WR Rostered 27%

Jayden Reed is quietly averaging just over 10 points per game this season and even led the Packers in receiving yards this past week. We’ve previously stated on our podcast that Reed could carve out a significant role in the offense, but with Christian Watson struggling with only one game over 35 yards, Reed’s role has more room to grow. He has also popped with 4 of his 8 games with over 15 yards per catch. Reed could slip into a flex spot sooner than later.

Kyler Murray ARI QB Rostered 37%

Guys, really this is your LAST chance to add one of the elite quarterbacks in fantasy and is worth whatever you can do to grab him off waivers. In his career, he averages 20+ fantasy points per game. He will take some time to readjust coming off of an ACL injury, but he’ll be back this week or next and ready to roll. He also offers a great playoff schedule against Chicago and Philadelphia. If you’re unsure of your QB1 going forward, there is no reason you shouldn’t be looking to own Kyler Murray.

This concludes our week 9 waiver wire article as always have a good week and go get some Ws in your fantasy leagues!
